More pics with Tyson

Mom looking great as the baby weight drops off. Dad looking sharp in
his cowboy duds on his way to work at cowgirls. Doesn't he look sharp!

Grandma and Grandpa with little man.

Labor Day

Casualty of the day. Bit on the lip by a wasp. A little benedryl and a couple of hours later everything was fine. Kinda reminds ya of Will Smith in Hitch!

Julie threading the vines on the trellises

Once they decide exactly where the flagstone will go the rest of the sod will be layed.

Another view of the soon to be flagstone area.

This will be the area for the flagstone patio. The firepit and chairs will fit perfectly!

Moss rock set up from the grass to the patio

Pat helping install the trellises
Beautiful flowering vines getting wrapped on trellises.
Training the creeping fig on a fantastic rock wall.
Most people view Labor Day as a day to spend with Family maybe having a picnic or going camping. Not Pat and Julie! They made the trip to Idaho to see their new little Grandson Tyson again... and to give Chris his birthday present. What does that have to do with the pictures above? Well happy birthday Chris we are helping you put in your backyard! They worked for two days solid. Putting in sprinklers, planting tons of bushes, filling planter pots, putting beautiful vines on trellises. Still a little left to do but what has gotten done is beautiful.

He sleeps anywhere, anytime!

Perfectly good bed but he has to sleep on the floor. And with his special broom that Janelle had gotten him. He had boots to match and literaly wore them out because he wore them so much.
On the back of the couch in the guest room. And yes shortly
after this I heard a clunk as he fell off the back and never woke up!
A little nap with dad on the top bunk of the jeep bed.

Tyson Meets Great Grandma and Grandpa

Don and Donna came up for the weekend before leaving with Daryl for their trip to Wisconsin.
They were able to spend lots of time with little Barry and their newest Great Grandson, Tyson.
As you can see below he saved all his cuteness just for them.

Today I watched Ashley while everyone went to the gym. So I figured we could all use some exercise too. So off to the park we went. Dispite the heat we all had a good time.

Our Backyard

We are just about finished with the softscaping of our backyard. We are certified as a National Wildlife Habitat so we have to make sure we provide food, water, shelter, etc. We have more birds in our backyard that I have ever seen before. Lots of different types. Little Barry just loves to watch them. They play in the water, fight over the food, and make lots of noise.

We just finished our waterfall. It came out perfect. The sound is very peaceful. It is a disappearing fall meaning it just goes straight into the ground. No pond. We transplanted a very large tree that was stuck in a corner to more of the middle of the yard. We are hopeing by spring it will recover from the shock and we won't have to replace it. In it's place we put our new outdoor Christmas tree!
Next year we plan on adding an outdoor kitchen, pergolas over the side patios, and replacing the builder made pergola over the main patio with an actual covered structure that ties into the house. They say a house is never done... and if it is... it's time to move. Well I don't plan on moving anytime soon so I must have lots of work to do!

Two Week Appt.

Well little man has definitley gotten the eating thing down. In one week since his last doctors appt he gained an entire pound and 2 inches! His hair looks just like Auntie Vicki's did when she was that age... like a little monkey boy! He is now 8.8 lbs and 22 inches. He focused on Grandpa for about 30 seconds... then had to look away.... do you blame him... check out that stubble!

Arriving back at home

The bus lets Barry out right accross the street from our house. I have to be honest I felt a little twinge that he might not get off that bus. But the school did it's job and got him on the right one!
Little man couldn't wait to get home and tell us all about his day. He didn't even see me standing there! After school he had to go to swimming lessons. When it came time for bed we didn't hear a peep out of him. I think I'm gonna like this all day school and swimming lesson thing!

My Classroom

Orientation started with Mrs. Duke introducing herself and how her kindergarten class will work this year. This is the first year of all day kindergarten. She has been teaching kindergarten for 8 of 11 years. I warned her that Barry is a spirited little man. She said she hasn't had one she couldn't handle yet. Any bets on how long before the first phone call home? ;)

Rules Rules Rules!

Mrs. Duke
I found my seat!
I even have my own name tag.
Mom filling out paperwork
I chose to bring my lunch to school today cuz all they were going to have was a burrito. But the rest of the months meals sound really good. Tomorrow we have baked chicken! They even let our family come and eat with us if they would like to. The first graders took us to the lunch room today and helped us with our lunches. I met some new friends and can't wait to go back tomorrow! Grandpa says when he was my age that great grandma was a lunch lady. But he didn't like the lunch because she put raisins in the meatloaf. She says he's crazy. I sure hope they don't put anything funny in my lunch like that!
