Tyson has arrived!!!!!
10cm and still smiling. What a trooper!
Our beautiful little man decided to make his entrance today. Grandma put in the request to him yesterday. He pondered it overnight and thought it might be a good idea.
Jamie was at the doctors office yesterday with no encouraging news to report. Her doctor decided it would be OK to go out of town today since Jamie wasn't showing any signs of delivery.
Today she popped her plug, and almost immediately the contractions were 2 minutes apart. She went straight to the hospital. Upon arrival she was 5 cm dilated. Tyson decided he was in a big hurry and that was causing a few problems. His heart rate kept dropping. They decided to try and slow her labor and load her up with some fluids. They put the IV, catheter, and epidural in and did a recheck. She was at 10cm!
Her replacement Doctor just happened to be out playing baseball with his league. He gave his orders and told them he would be there as soon as he was done. Geez priorities!
Finally the nurses decided it was time for doc to bring his catchers mitt and get in there. Tyson had the cord wrapped around his neck and wasn't getting enough blood because of it. Doctor decided it was time to get the vacuum out and help little man along. Well right at the end he came a little quick which caused him to go into transitional shock. Basically the lack of blood in his system and his inability to breath adequately caused some concern. They let her see him and then rushed him off to the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit)
Jamie was doing pretty well after delivery with the exception of a little too much bleeding. They started her on Pitocin in order to cause her uterus to contract quickly.
I was able to go and meet my new little grandson in the NICU. They even let me take a few pictures for everyone to see. He was still having trouble breathing and they were going to start an IV on him to give him fluids. He's a little pale yet, but overall he looked beautiful to me. He looks a lot like Chris. A lot of dark hair and beautiful almond shaped eyes. What is it with all 4 of the grandsons in this family looking like their dads!
Tyson was born at 11:19 pm July 29th. He weighed 7lbs 8 ozs and 20 inches long. Hopefully he will be well enough for Jamie to hold him soon.

Boys Road Trip
Hot off the road! What a good husband still does the dinner dishes!
You know Gary must be tired if there is a half drunk glass of Vodka tonic sitting there.
We had a surprise visitor last thursday. Gary Hawkins showed up unannounced and then pissed and moaned we didn't have a beer ready for him! All was good.. he brought his own supply of Yukon Jack. He and Daryl decided to surprise Gary Robbins by showing up at his house unannounced. So after a night of rest off they went. Gary and Danelle were surprised and delighted to see them. They spent the night there and then all three decided to head out. They ended up in Butte Montana and spent the night there. Then I get a phone call saying they were all headed back to this house and have a fresh supply of refreshments ready for them.

Barry Jr's Birthday
5 Years Old!
This year we had a small birthday party for Barry that lasted over 2 days. The first day Daryl and I took him to POJO"S for pizza, games, bumper cars and carosel rides. He had a blast. The next day Uncle Chris and Aunt Jamie came over for dinner and dessert and presents! Little Man is very much into Star Wars and Transformers. His Cousins, Denise, Jay, and James sent him a whole box full of stuff. Books, Candy Kalidescope, and the hit of the party, a Marshmellow shooter. He was outside forever shooting that thing. I also think there are still some hidden in our house!

Swim Test
Barry passed his first swim test today. I as said earlier the instructor had him skip the first level and go straight to level 2. He passed with flying colors yesterday so we celebrated by going for Wild Buffalo Wings. Here he is enjoying them and his certificates. Next week he will start a level 3 which is unassisted tasks.
